The APS ASR106 Mini Patriot M4 is a very close replica of "The Patriot" pistol from the Metal Gear video game franchise. See the "Science Fiction Airsoft Guns" article for full detail and images of the two guns. However, there are still slight differences. The ASR106 comes with M4 magazine, rather than the drum magazine. The Patriot has a M16 carrying handle, rather than iron sights. The patriot has handguards. It is easy to convert the ASR106 into "The Patriot". You just need a few parts. This article will show you how.

These handguards are made out of plastic and attaches to the Picatinny Weaver rails. You can cut them to any length to make the ASR106 look just like "The Patriot".
