The T&D Airsoft Short Foregrip is a stubby foregrip for small rifles and pistols. Compared to normal foregrips, the stubby foregrip is slightly shorter. It allow better maneuverability in CQB environment with windows and furniture. In this article, we will review this stubby foregrip.
We got the T&D Airsoft Short Foregrip on sale for about $7 on Airsoft Megastore, which sell it as the "T&D Airsoft Short Polymer Vertical Foregrip for 20mm Rails" (see "Related Links" below). We were amazed with the quality of it for a measly seven bucks.
The T&D Airsoft Short Foregrip comes in a rather simple plastic packaging. There is no instruction related to it, but it's pretty self explanatory on its use.
The Fidragon Bipod Foregrip is made of plastic, but it feels extremely high quality. It is also very sturdy. It almost feels like it is a solid piece of plastic, because there is no bending and it is fairly weighted. It feels extremely assuring in my hand.
The grip is quite comfortable. On long guns, where the front is fairly heavy, this foregrip feels right at home.
There is a screw cap at the bottom of the foregrip (see photo below). You can unscrew it to reveal a hidden compartment (see photo above). Maybe batteries for a tactical flashlight, red dot sight, laser sight, or others. Note that the foregrip has an oval shape.
The T&D Airsoft Short Foregrip is designed to attach to Picatinny rails. Therefore, your airsoft gun needs to have a rail on the bottom of the gun.
Interestingly, the foregrip has two push-down quick-release mechanisms. It is supposedly a "fast" way to install and remove the foregrip. But its design requires you to use two hands, meaning you won't have a hand to hold the gun. It works fine on a big rifle that has enough weight to stay in place, but it's harder to install on a smaller airsoft gun.
The photo above provides reference to the amount of slots the locking mechanism takes up on the rail, which is three slots.
The T&D Airsoft Short Foregrip works decently. It is extremely sturdy. But its quick release mechanisms are not locked down with screws and clamps. Therefore, it actually has a bit of wobble. But even so, on a sniper rifle that is front heavy, the foregrip redistributes the rifle weight, so that you can carry it without fatigue.
In the photo above, I have attached the T&D Airsoft Short Foregrip to a WE F226 (Sig Sauer P226 replica) via the Pistol Hex-Rail. I used this combination at a pistol-only zombie apocalypse airsoft night game. This set-up allows me to use it as if it is a SMG.
