Over the past months, we have tried a number of different 0.2 gram BB. Airsoft BB's generally fall into one of two types: 1) biodegradable; and 2) non-biodegradable. While we like to use biodegradable BB's to preserve mother earth, there are so many professional grade BB's that we like to try as well.
As we start gearing up for outdoor play, we started looking at heavier weight BB's. We've heard that they travel further than lighter BB's and are less effected by outdoor environment. So we have picked up a pack of Matrix Professional Grade 6MM (0.25g) BB's. They are 5000 rounds for $11.
The Evike Professional Grade 6MM Airsoft BB's comes in a plastic bag, much like fish pellets. It's completely sealed, but has a easy to open cut-away on top. Once you rip the top off, you can open the zip-lock bag. The integrated zip-lock allow you to reseal the BB's in the bag, so that you don't need another container for the BB's.
Unlike the biodegradable BB's, which has a very strong smell, the first thing we noticed when we opened the 5000 count bag is that there isn't much of a smell. Each Matrix Professional Grade BB seems uniform with no seams. In addition, when we dig our hand into the bag, grabbing a handful, and dumping them into the bag, the BB's create crisp, hard sounds. The BB's seem to be glossier and harder than the biodegradable BB's.
The bottle label claims "less than 5% internal bubbles" and "each Angel Custom BB is carefully manufactured into a perfect sphere 5.98mm in diameter for zero jamming". That is the exact specification provided by Angel Custom Professional Grade 6MM Airosoft BB and Evike Professional Grade 6MM Airsoft BB. In fact, the bullet points on the back of both Angel Custom, Evike, and Matrix BB's says exactly the same thing verbatim. That pretty much tells us that Angel Custom, Evike, and Matrix are all of the same company (or use the same manufacturer, at the least). Matrix BB's are made in Taiwan.
