The G&P Sniper Type 110 Round No Winding Mid-Cap Magazine is made out of metal. The only plastic part is the top BB feeder. It's shorter than most standard magazines for the M4. However, it feels about the same weight as the metal magazine that came with the APS ASR106 Mini Patriot M4 rifle. The photo below shows the magazine mounted in APS ASR106 Mini Patriot M4 airsoft rifle. It's black color matches the texture of the M4 rifle perfectly. The beauty of this magazine is that there is no winding wheel, even though it is a mid-cap magazine. In addition, BB's doesn't rattle in the magazine. Both of these benefits means that magazine is more realistic than a typical airsoft magazine. In addition, it makes you stealthier on the battle field. You can make this magazine even more realistic by loading only 30 rounds in the magazine. As a sniper, it's easier to go prone with this magazine, because it's shorter than most M4/M16 magazines.
Unlike a high-cap magazine where you can pour BB's into a large hole, the only way to load this magazine is to use to speed loader. That's pretty typical of an airsoft magazine that doesn't rattle. The loading hole has a switch (see photo below) that lets you unload all of the BB's in the magazine quickly. The switch is rather easy to use with the fingernail.
The magazine worked in the APS ASR106 Mini Patriot M4 rifle right off the bat. There was no mis-feeds. It's a perfect little magazine.
The bottom of the magazine has a hex screw (see photo below). Unscrewing this hex screw allows you to disassemble the magazine. You'll need a 2mm hex wrench. A precision Torx screwdriver also works. The T9 Torx bit fits perfectly in the hex screw.
Once you unscrewed the hex screw, you can pull the plastic internal case out of the metal magazine case. There are seven screws (see photo below) on the plastic internal case.
