Found the DBPower BCE0137 Red Dot Sight for less than $20 with free shipping. It had five star reviews from eleven reviewers. Many reviewers had mounted this sight on 5.56 M4 and were quite pleased with its performance.
It just seems that there is no way to go wrong with this inexpensive scope on an airsoft gun. In this article, we will examine this scope for airsoft.
The DBPower BCE0137 Red Dot Scope comes in a nicely designed box (see photo below). It has photos of the woods, animals, and mountains, giving you the perception of a great hunting tool.
The package contains the red dot scope, front and rear protective lens caps, a cleaning cloth, an instruction sheet, a CR2032 battery, and a hex wrench.
The protective lens caps are made out of plastic. Unfortunately, they are not transparent, so you can use them to protect the scope in an airsoft game. So you'll have to protect the scope yourself, as explained in the "Protecting the Optical Sight on Airsoft Guns" article.

From Amazon photos, the DBPower BCE0137 Red Dot Scope looks identical to other red dot scopes in this factor. In fact, from the photos, it looks exactly the same as the Barska 30mm Red Dot Scope that we reviewed before. It seems they may be re-brands.

However, upon comparing them side-by-side, we have noted that they have very similar designs, but have many differences. 1) The scope direction are opposite on the two scopes. 2) The external scope tube on the DBPower version is slightly smaller (Barska scope protectors are loose fit on the DBPower). 3) The DBPower front lens element has a nice reflective coating. The two scopes are probably reverse engineered from another scope.
Much like many other red dot sights on the market, the DBPower BCE0137 Red Dot Scope uses a single 2032 button cell battery for power. And like many other red dot sights, the button cell is under an screw cap on the rheostat at the top of the scope.
The DBPower BCE0137 Red Dot Scope comes with Picatinny mount brackets. The mount brackets are tightened down with two hex screws. A hex wrench is included to help you tighten it down. Although hex screws are less convenient than thumbscrews, it's unlikely that you will need to remove the sight often after it's attached and sighted in.
The scope's mount system is a unique design. As you can see from the photo below, the screws does not lock into the rail slots. Therefore, has the ability to fasten to both Picatinny and Weaver rails. In addition, it provides a quarter-inch of build-in riser. The drawback is that it will be difficult to duplicate the previous mount location once it is pulled off the rail.
The brackets are also unique in design. most scope comes with floating brackets on only one side of the mount. However, DBPower's version has a floating bracket on both sides.
The DBPower BCE0137 Red Dot Sight provide both elevation and windage adjustments. When you rotate the adjustment dials, they provide positive clicks. The elevation adjustment is under the black cap at the top of the scope (see photo below). When you rotate the adjustment screw in the "up" direction, it moves your [to be filled in] upward in the scope.
The windage adjustment is under the black cap on the left side of the scope (see photo below). When you rotate the adjustment screw in the "left" direction, it moves [to be filled in] toward the left within the scope.
The elevation and windage adjustment caps have rubber seals. Therefore, you want to screw the caps on just tight enough to seal, but not tight enough to squeeze the rubber o-rings out of place.
The DBPower BCE0137 Red Dot Scope has 30mm lens element, which is big enough for fast acquisition of targets, but not big enough to overshadow your airsoft gun. We find 30mm scope to be excellent for fast pace airsoft games. 40mm scopes will increase your acquisition speed, but obnoxious on your gun. The acquisition speed of a 20mm scope is just too slow.
