Have you ever thought of playing an airsoft sniper? Or maybe play a designated marksman on your team? If so, you've probably thought of building a sniper rifle or a designated marksman rifle (DMR). In either case, you are probably looking at a magnified scope. A 4x scope is probably the longest scope you'd ever need on an airsoft field. If you are thinking of playing full time sniper, then a dedicate, magnified scope is probably what you need. But if you are the designated marksman and are going to be running around with a full-auto rifle that is built as a DMR, then you'll probably want to use a 1x red dot sight with a magnifier scope. The Avengers Tactical 3X Magnifier Scope is just the ticket for your DMR.
OEM Part
The Avengers Tactical 3X Magnifier Scope is an OEM scope and is re-branded by many distributors. See "Related Links" below for a list of this same scope under different names.
The Avengers Tactical 3X Magnifier Scope comes in a black box (see photo below). It makes you think that you just got a black market weapon accessory. There is no other marking on the box. If it isn't for the nice black cardboard, you'd think this is ghetto OEM box, which it probably still is. But its blackness makes you feel a little more exclusive.
The box is a little damaged from storage/shipment. But because of its quality, it still holds up well.
The cardboard box contains the 3X magnifier, a pre-installed flip-to-side mount, an allen hex wrench, and a cleaning cloth (see photo below). But there is no instruction sheet, leaving me to figure out how to use it all on my own. The magnifier and mount is made out of metal. They feel both hefty and sturdy in my hands.
I am also surprised about the flip-to-side mount. It's exactly what I wanted on a 3x magnifier scope. But the web page, where I ordered it from, claims that it comes with a quick-detach (QD) mount. I am pleased I got the flip-to-side mount instead.
The flip-to-side mount has a really strong spring. When you depress the switch, it flips the 3x magnifier to the right side (see photo below) with quite a force. But at least it does it quickly so that you can get on with the action.
The 3x magnifier is fastened into the mount using four hex screws on top. After unscrewing the four hex screws with the included hex wrench, you can separate the magnifier from the mount. The mounting ring measures 30mm (see photo below).
The flip-to-side mount is 30mm tall (to the bottom of the scope) as shown in the photo below. A red dot sight with a 30mm tall mount will be a good match for it.
The 3x magnifier is not quite reversible on the mount. The pineapple-like grip is a little too big and touches the mount. You can probably fasten it down, but the scope will be slightly angled. One possible solution is to file the mount down a little bit.
The flip-to-side scope has side-to-side adjustment (see photo below). On other scopes, it would be called the windage adjustment. But on the magnifier, it's just to align the length of the magnifier with your real sight. It's locked in place by a hex screw and a hex nut.
The flip-to-side mount is compatible with Picatinny weaver rail. But strangely, the screw for the Picatinny weaver rail mount bracket is a flat-head screw (see below). It would have been easier if it uses the same hex screw head as the rest of the mount. The hex screw toward the top left corner of the mount is for the side-to-side adjustment. It's also a smaller screw head than the other hex screws.
You can also adjust elevation on the Avengers 3X magnifier. However, the adjustment screw is under the scope mount. Therefore, to adjust it, you have to flip the magnifier to the side, make your adjustments, flip the magnifier back to check the alignment, and repeat. There is no way to see your adjustment in real-time.
In order to see the magnification clearly, your eye has to be about one inch away from the end of the eye piece (pineapple grip side). Once you have mounted the magnifier on your gun, you can fine tune the eyepiece by extending it and retracting it. The two photo below shows you the extended and the retracted position.
I tested the Avengers Tactical 3X Magnifier Scope with the Ultimate Arms Gear Tactical 4 Reticle Sight (JH400). As you can see from the photo below, the Avengers Tactical 3X Magnifier is about a quarter inch to a half inch too high compared to the red dot sight.
I also tested the Avengers Tactical 3X Magnifier Scope with the Barska 30mm Red Dot Scope. The photo below shows that the Avengers Tactical 3X Magnifier is about a half inch to 3/4 inch higher than the red dot sight.
I can buy some risers to make either of the red dot sight work with the 3x magnifier. But that's a bit of money and a bit of trial-and-error. I think getting a red dot sight with a 30mm tall mount is a better idea. For example, the NcStar Tactical Red/Green Dot Sight with 30mm Cantilever Weaver Mount (DMRG130) is a good fit. See "Related Links" below for this sight.
So I purchased the NcStar Tactical Red/Green Dot Sight with 30mm Cantilever Weaver Mount (DMRG130). It's a perfect for the Avengers Tactical 3X Magnifier Scope (see photo below).

The photo below shows the Avengers 3X magnifier flipped to the side.
Using the windage and elevation adjustment, I was able to center the Avengers Tactical 3X Magnifier Scope on the green dot shown in the NcStar Tactical Red/Green Dot Sight. This is the winning combination, so I'm using it on my JG M5-S6 AEG.
