Pistols now has bottom Picatinny rails to help you attach accessories. But that rail is so short that you can only typically fit one accessory at a time. Then when you consider how many types of accessories are out there, you'd realize how valuable rail real estate is. For example, you might want to put a red dot sight, a laser sight, a tactical flashlight, a foregrip, and a camera on your pistol.
In the spirit to deck out your gun, we are going to preset a few airsoft pistols that not only have bottom rails, but also top rails. We can only present a few because pistols with top rails are so rare that there is a better chance of a zombie apocalypse. This article will help you find one without trying.
The Black Ops Tactical Wolverine Pistol is a non-blowback (NBB) airsoft pistol that uses CO2 gas. It has a metal slide with a polymer lower to give it a realistic weight. It has two top Picatinny rails and one bottom Picatinny rail.
It shoots 430 FPS, meaning you may not be able to use it at a local airsoft field. The gun has an adjustable hop-up so you can adjust the BB trajectory. A 15-round magazine comes with the gun. As a nice bonus, it also comes with a laser sight and a strap for the remote trigger.
The WinGun M87 is based on the Beretta 87 Target firearm. This airsoft version is a full metal, CO2 gas pistol, but it has no blowback (NBB) functionality. The top Weaver rail and the bottom Picatinny rail give you more real estate to add accessories.
However, the WinGun M87 shoots quite hot; between 400 and 500 FPS. So it's fun for target practice, but it may not be the best platform to start if your local airsoft field doesn't allow it. It comes with a 15-round magazine.
