It's one thing to shoot airsoft BBs in your back yard. It's another thing to clean it up. And even if you sweep all of the BBs into your trashcan, they will just end up at a landfill with no where to go. But what if they are biodegradable BBs? Then maybe all your headaches will be solved. Ok, just headaches related to shooting airsoft BBs in your back yard. That's where the Ignite Black Ops Biodegradable BBs come into play; you can shoot and let nature clean it up for you.
The Ignite Black Ops biodegradable BBs are readily available at Wal-mart. So we got our hands on a 10000 round bottle (see photo below) of their 0.2 gram, 6mm, mixed color, biodegradable BBs to try. They even provided zombie targets for us to shoot at.
Wal-mart's web site for this product shows "High-grade, tight tolerance (+/- 0.015mm)". But it doesn't specify what size the BB are made to. So if we assume they are exactly 6mm BB with +/- 0.015mm tolerance, we would assume that these BBs are not useable in extreme tightbore barrels, like the 6.01 or 6.02mm barrels.
Most of the BBs are uniformly round and seamless. However, we have spotted many BB's with inward seams. We have not spotted any BB's with protruding seams. We also spotted one BB with surface imperfection. With these irregularity BB's our conclusion is that these are not precision BB's. We have used these BBs in two distinct airsoft guns (one SMG's and one pistol) and have no problems so far.
