Are you thinking what I am thinking? Ok, maybe the title has given it away. But the high FPS and the top Picatinny weaver rail of this futuristic WinGun M87 (depicted in the photo above) just begs to be built into a science fiction airsoft sniper rifle. This article provides some concepts for this idea. Links to the parts presented in this articles are in the "Related Links" section below.
The WinGun M87 is an airsoft pistol that is not a replica of a real firearm. It is powered by CO2 gas cartridges and shoots too hot--approximately 450 FPS--for any airsoft field. But its velocity does fall into the sniper range. It has a full top Picatinny weaver rail that helps customize this pistol easily.
The WinGun M87 is the base of this futuristic airsoft sniper rifle, because it has all of the mechanism to propel airsoft BB's.
The DBoys M4 Modular Railed Handguard (depicted in the photo at the top of this article) is an attachment to the M4 upper receiver to provide a railed handguard. It has a futuristic look and will provide the front-end aesthetics of this science fiction sniper rifle. The WinGun M87 has a top Picatinna weaver rail, so the DBoys M4 Modular Railed Handguard can directly attach to the WinGun M87 without modification.
All sniper rifles have a large shoulder stock to provide stability support. It would also give the gun a menacing look. A stock from VSS Vintorez, SVD, or Echo1 MTC-3 would probably ideal.
There is no direct shoulder stock attachment for the WinGun M87. Therefore, you'll need to do a bit of modification. A cheap low-power electronic gun (LPEG) or bone yard sniper gun could provide the stock.
The shoulder stock photo, at the top of this article, depicts the Crosman 1377 Custom Shoulder Stock. It's not as menacing as the shoulder stocks from guns just mentioned, but it's made for pistols and may be easier to modify for this purpose.
