The following is a list of Tokyo Marui gearbox versions and the type of guns they are installed into. As other companies start developing custom gearboxes, the new custom gearboxes might not be associated with Tokyo Marui versions.
Guns: FAMAS
Guns: M16 (AR15, M4, Ikazuchi, Thunder Maul, M27, SPR, LR-300 etc.), MP5, G3 (T3, MC51), M15, PDW, SA58 (MK58), some SR-25, A&K Masada
Parts Compatibility: Version 3 gears (spur, sector, bevel) are compatible with version 2 gearbox. Version 3 piston is compatible with version 2 gearbox.
Guns: some SR-25
Parts Compatibility: All internals compatible with version 2, except for these parts: cylinder, piston, sector gear. Nozzle is the same as version 4 nozzle. Version 2.5 piston is compatible with L85 and version 4 gearbox.
Guns: AK-series, MP5K, UMP, AUG, G36, PP-19 Bizon, SIG, FAL, Urban Assault Rifle (UAR), Galil, VSS Vintorez (AY, Echo1 Red Star IGOR, S&T), Magpul PTS Masada
Parts Compatibility: Version 2 gears (spur, sector, bevel) are compatible with version 3 gearbox. Version 2 piston is compatible with version 3 gearbox.
Exceptions: VSS Vintorez AEG uses non-version 3 air nozzle, cylinder head, and tappet plate.

Parts Compatibility: Version 4 piston is compatible with version 2.5.

Parts Compatibility: Compatible with version 2 and version 3 upgrade parts.
Guns: Tokyo Marui Recoil Shock Series AR Variants, MK16, G36K
Guns: M249
Parts Compatibility: Version 2 and version 3 gears (Spur, Sector, Bevel) are compatible with the M249 gearbox.
Guns: MP7, Skorpian vz. 61, MAC 10
Guns: TAR-21
Guns: L85
Parts Compatibility: Piston is compatible with version 2.5.
