The one cent per grenade is a good deal. You won't even have to pick them up if you don't want to. It is like picking up pennies on the sidewalk.
You might even consider the giraffe colored ones. Not only are they easier to spot when they land, enemies are less likely to pick them up and add to their stockpile.
