We have just gotten done with the first night operation at Evike Airsoft Camp 2014. It has been a lot of fun with a lot of friendly people. I have gotten more tactics to share.
1. The forest is a big area. You will definitely want to build a DMR that can shoot quite a distance.
2. It is practically pitch black. The trees covers the moonlight and starlights. Night vision doesn't help that much. Let your naked eyes adjust.
3. Move very slowly. I started the game moving at what I thought was slow. I ended up tripping and falling. It was too fast. After I really slowed down, I stopped stumbling and was able to control the situation.
4. Bring a flashlight so you can move to the spawn point faster.
5. Having a laser sight that is adjusted to the same aim point as your red dot sight is extremely helpful. That is especially true if each team is wearing different color glowstick or lights. It is also useful if the enemy is using flashlight. When you spot the enemy's light at engagement distance, turn on the laser, put the red laser dot on the enemy, shoot the enemy, then turn off the laser.
Do you have night operation tips from Evike Airsoft Camp? Share with us.

Title: A Trail of Flashlights
Weblog: Airsoft SpecOps
Excerpt: My friend just mentioned to me about a night time tactic. Buy a bunch of flashlights from Walmart. As you run through the field, drop them one at a time. More likely than not, the enemy will shoot at the light source(s). As the enemy fire at the light sources, they are giving their position away to . . .

Excerpt: Red or blue/green light does not destroy your natural night vision as readily as white light. The rule of thumb is to use a red light in the outdoors to avoid destroying your NV and prevent the enemy from spotting you easily. Then switch to white light for building/room cleaning. After securing a . . .
