MOUT stands for military operations in urban terrain and is now a standard practice for military around the world. MOUT is extremely important for airsoft, because airsoft simulates military warfare on in different territories.
Today, I found a number of YouTube videos that demonstrates MOUT tactics well. Ironically, the Tactical Playbook training videos are from the "Full Spectrum Warrior" video game by THQ.
In this thread, I will share those videos and provide my own commentaries on how to use them in airsoft.

This video demonstrates how to cross open areas under enemy fire. This video is a great demonstration of "suppression fire". In the video, there are two fire teams involved. In airsoft, even with a two man team, one man can suppress, while the other man crosses.

This is an awesome tactics. Unfortunately, it's not something that is executable in airsoft, because smoke grenades are not allowed and could be quite dangerous.
What can we do to substitute? Maybe a flour filled 40mm grenade launcher? Just an idea that I never tried. If you have idea or know the answer, share it with us in the "Pop Smoke" thread.

The M67 fragmentation hand grenade is really useful in MOUT situations. In airsoft, the grenade is obviously simulated. The following video demonstrate proper position of your team to use the M67 fragmentation hand grenade. And you might consider studying up on our "Dummy Grenade Tactics".

This video gloss over the stack. As you watch it, keep this in mind. The stack controls its position in the environment as it moves. That means the team as a whole has as many threat areas covered as possible. That means each team member (element) has to cover his/her respective threat areas.
For example, the point man cover frontal ninety degrees. The second element covers ninety degrees to the open side. The third element may have to cover all the windows and elevated positions. The last element have to cover the six (behind the team).

The bounding overwatch is a more advanced tactics to the lesson 1 (suppression fire). The elements basically take turns providing suppression fire while the other elements move.

This is a great tactics for airsoft, because it makes great use of the 40mm airsoft grenade shell. Many airsoft players claim the 40mm grenade shell isn't useful. Well, this video demonstrates how to use it properly.

I read all the MOUT tactics and watched all the videos. Its interesting to note how crucial suppression fire is when used in tandemn with second fire team maneuvers. Like the post said, even in airsoft these maneuvers can still be performed with 2 or 4 man fire teams.
thanks for the post
