Do you ever wonder why military personnel carry both a rifle and a pistol? There are a lot of reasons why they do. And each of them translates into good reasons when you walk onto an airsoft field.
Reason #1: With practice, pulling out your airsoft pistol is faster than reloading your rifle. If you run out of ammo in a fire fight, you should immediately transition to your pistol. Make sure you practice your grip, clear, smack, punch sequence.
Reason #2: You may be in an extreme CQB situation. CQB stands for close-quarter battle. Maybe a rifle is too big to maneuver in the tight quarter that you are in. Time to make safe your rifle and pull out your pistol.
Reason #3: Rifle jam. You will experience it one time or another. Perhaps it's as easy to fix as switch to full auto for a second. But do you really have time to troubleshoot it in a fire fight? Pull out your pistol in that case.
Next time you go out on an airsoft battlefield with your rifle as your sole personal defense weapon, think of what a pistol can do for you.
Can you think of any more reasons to carry an airsoft pistol as a backup? Please share them with us.
