My cousin related a story to me today. He was in high school and was unrelated to me in the airsoft genre. We chatted about airsoft.
He mentioned to me that he had played backyard airsoft with some friends before. But they didn't know any better. They did not wear any goggles nor facemaks. Their rule was to aim low. No one aims for the head. They were using spring pistols. But you can probably already figure out where this story is going.
At one point, he saw his friend shoot toward his legs. He saw the BB curve upward and then hit him in the eye. I didn't get much details of exactly what happened to his eyes at that instance, but I'm sure it was very painful. He ended up in the hospital. He was legally blind for three months while he wore a patch. Good thing he wasn't permanently blind.
Do not play airsoft with other people without goggles or facemasks. Do not shoot at anyone that is not wearing protection.
