Secondary Equipment

I just had a splendid weekend at Evike's The Airsoft Camp 2014. Not only had I have a lot of fun, I also met a lot of friendly people. But there was one mistake I learned the hard way at camp.

For a long airsoft operation, everyone knows to bring backup equipment, in case the primary equipment fails. Therefore, I've brought a primary AEG, a secondary AEG, and a backup AEG in case both primary and secondary failed. My primary AEG have shot rock solid the entire weekend, so I have not needed the secondary AEG. But on the night operation on the first night, I lost my radio!

That was a huge detriment to our crew. Without that crucial piece of equipment, we were not communicate to rule the field. Luckily our team was more tactical than the other team, and we rocked the other team the next two day games.

I ended up buying another radio for the last day game on the third day of camp. That proved to be a good decision, because the other team had learned the terrain and the associated tactics. They were pinning our VIP down from higher ground. Using radio communication, our crew radioed in the situation, I was about to communicate that to teammates in the lower area. We formed two task forces, overran the enemy's well bunkered position to turn the game around.

Lesson learned is to have secondary equipment for every essential gear, including the radio. Just having secondary AEG, sidearms, etc. keeps you in the fun. But having secondary for the radio helps your team win the war.
