Radios

I've been looking at radios. So I'm sharing some information here to get you started, in case anyone is interested in radios.

I'm probably going to get the Motorola TalkAbout MR350 2-Way Radio. 35 mile range, 22 channels It's about $52 on Amazon and $56 at Best Buy. I suspect I will get it from Best Buy this weekend. If you want to see what it can do, the user manual is here:

I also found another Midland X-Tra Talk GXT1000/GTX1050 Series GMRS/FRS Radio that seems to have more features. 36 mile range, 50 channels. It's about $59 on Amazon. Best Buy doesn't carry this radio. It has a number emergency and outdoor features that may be more useful to you if you want to use it for emergency purpose. The user manual is here:

A friend of mine has the Cobra CXT280 radio. It is used by the local sheriff's volunteer department. My friend claims that it works well. It's 20 miles with 22 channels. It's $66 on Amazon and is not available at Best Buy. User manual is here:

I purchased the Motorola TalkAbout MR350 2-Way Radio a few weeks ago. It works decently at an indoor airsoft field. I also got this following security headset to go along with the radio:
