Thought I was a genius.
As the zombies night game is coming closers and closer, I start running over my airsoft zombie loadout over and over again. It's a pistol only game to simulate a situation like Left 4 Dead. So one of the concern is how to use the iron sight in the darkness. In the firearm world, that would be solved by tritium iron sights. Not only is that costly, but it's not available for all airsoft handguns.
With Halloween swirling in my head, a lightbulb switched on brightly. How about glow-in-the-dark paint that is being sold in Spirit Halloween store?
A quick search for "glow-in-the-dark" on Amazon reveals that I'm no genius and won't be winning a Nobel Prize this year. GLOW-ON ORIGINAL Color Super Phosphorescent Gun Sights Paint Small 2.3 ml vial shows up in the search result and is made for just this purpose. Dabbed on your iron sights and they will glow in the darkness. It's an excellent alternative to tritium iron sights.
User reviews provides some tips, such as dabbing this paint over white yields much higher illumination. And it lasting 15 minutes is more than enough for most airsoft fields. You can use a UV flashlight to charge up the glow between games, if the field isn't lit during the break.
The bottle is about $10, but is sufficient to light up all of the iron sights in your collection. Personally, it's a no brain mod that will go a long way.
