A laser sight that is zeroed in is excellent for shooting targets indoor or at night. Because you can put a bright red dot on your target and fire with assurance that you will hit the target. You can even fire from the hip with a laser sight. It is also very useful to identify correct posture and draw motion.
But one situation where it is not very useful is outdoors during the day, especially when it is sunny. Under the sun, the entire scene is washed out by bright sunlight. You can hardly see the red laser dot from five feet away. For outdoors, be sure you have a red/green dot sight, a scope, or the iron sight to complement your laser sight.
