In our never ending quest to dominate the airsoft field, we have found the Seek UW-AAA Thermal Imaging Camera on Amazon. This is a thermal imager for Android and iOS SmartPhones for $199 with free shipping:
This device plugs into the USB port on your Android phone or your iPhone. Its app displays the thermal image on your phone's screen. "Seek captures heat signatures and converts them into an easy and convenient real time picture for your smartphone device. The Seek Thermal camera allows users to detect heat signatures from 1,000 feet, recognize from 250 feet, and identify from 150 feet." If this range statement is correct, then it's perfect for outdoor airsoft operations.
You can attach this thermal imaging camera and your SmartPhone to your gun's Picatinny rail using the Airsoft3D SmartPhone Picatinny Adapter.
Has anyone given this device a try? What do you think it's its applicability to airsoft?
