What to do with the airsoft BB's that came with your airsoft gun? The intuitive answer is to shoot them with your brand new gun. But contrary to conventional wisdom, the proper answer is to not use them at all. Just reading the Internet reveals numerous horror stories of cheap BB's that break apart in the gun, jam the gun, or cause the gun to explode. Ok, the last one is an exaggeration.
Nevertheless, most airsoft players will not use BB's that are packaged with the gun. After all, the included BB's are just an enticement for beginners to buy the lower end airsoft guns. In addition, the included BB's are poorly marked. The photo shown below are examples of included BB's. Neither packets shows the weight of the BB's. And the yellow BB's doesn't seem to be uniform. The manufacturers don't include enough of them to make it worth your while anyway.
However, my friend started asking me about these BB's. None of us really wanted to throw them away. We were brought up to not waste. He actually came up with a good idea for these included BB's.
Use them in grenades or 40mm grenade shells. Why not? The grenades and grenades are just going to blow the BB's out via gas in a somewhat random fashion. The weight and quality of the BB's don't make a difference, right?
After hearing his idea, I begin to have more faith in these included BB's. Do you have your own ideas of using these questionable BB's? Share your ideas with us.

Same idea if you use them in a realistic airsoft shotgun shell that launches many BBs at once. There are three of them at this time:
- APS CAM870 Shotgun Shell (fires 12 BBs)
- Goblin Solo/Deuce Shotgun Shell (fires 12 BBs)
- Hwasan Shotgun Shell (fires 7 BBs)
