In the airsoft sport, it's in your best interest to bring your airsoft electronic gun (AEG) to the velocity limit of your local airsoft field. A faster gun shoots further than a slow one. In this article, we will present concrete method to increase the velocity, which is in feet-per-second (FPS), of your AEG.
Before you try to upgrade your AEG, be sure to seal it complete. You must ensure that there is no air leak, otherwise your upgrades will be useless. Once your AEG is completely sealed, the next easiest modification to increase FPS is to change the inner barrel. By increasing compression, the BB will shoot out faster, you can increase compression by decreasing the inner barrel diameter or increasing the inner barrel length. You can do both to dramatically increase compression.
6.01mm is the smallest diameter you can get for a inner barrel, so that's the maximum compression when decreasing diameter. The length on the other hand could go as long as 5.09mm. Using an extreme length inner barrel means you'll also need to ugpraded to a full gearbox cylinder. Then you'll just have to find the right external barrel to hide the inner barrel.
After you have increased compression as much as you can, the only other viable way of increasing FPS is to replace the main spring with a stronger one.
