I just heard someone needing a new airsoft gun for Airsoft Camp... so for those of you in the same boat, here is my advice...
Airsoft Camp has higher limits (400 FPS with 0.25g BBs) than any of the other operations. Because of the longer range in a woodland AO, your gun needs to be competitive. If you are going get a new gun, you can use this opportunity to get yourself a competitive one...
Buy an APS UAR. It has a quick spring change in the back. Then get yourself a M135 spring. That instantly puts the gun right at 447 FPS with 0.2g, which is right under the Airsoft Camp limit. You'll want a high power LiFePO or LiPO battery to power it; something greater than 9.6v.
After using it at Airsoft Camp, just pop the M135 spring out and push the M120 spring (came with the gun) in for 390 FPS at an outdoor field. And if you are going indoor CQB? Pop out the M120 and put in the M110 (also included) for 330 FPS. It's that easy.
APS UAR is about $125 on Evike with coupon. M135 spring is $5-$10. Battery is about $20.
Good luck. Have fun.

My experience is that changing the spring seemed to have little effect on the red dot sighting. Another win.

Title: What are you bringing to Evike Airsoft Camp?
Weblog: Airsoft SpecOps
Excerpt: Evike Airsoft Camp 2014 is only 2 weeks away. What are you all bringing to camp? I am building a custom APS M4 DMR and custom Echo1 Red Star IGOR. The photo below shows the stuff I am putting into the M4.
