Metal Hop-Up vs. Plastic Hop-Up

My friend mentioned to me that he's concerned with the plastic hop-up unit in his DBoys M4 CQB-R. In the past week, he has gotten some MilSim magazines and has been practicing tactical reload and speed reload with them. His concern is that the impact of the magazine to the hop-up unit will eventually break the plastic hop-up feeding tube. Has anyone experience this problem? Or has the plastic hop-up withstand the mid-cap magazine changes on your gun?
