We heard about the zombie infestation at Code Red on Saturday, March 16, 2016, so our team assembled six men to combat the threat. Our goal was to complete all objectives and extract alive. Three of us loaded up in full MultiCam gear ready to take on that challenge. Because the zombies can continuously spawn, there is basically infinite number of them, versus six of us.
The three of us loaded up in our ultra red military sport coupe and headed out through the back way. Before we can even go 3 miles, we were waylaid by the train that stopped dead on its track. We were concerned that this would really hinder the achievement of our goals before we even reach the zombie infestation. After the vehicles behind us cleared, we decided to turn around as well to take a detour.
Nothing can deter us from our objective; we are airsoft spec ops.
Taking the detour, we circled around to the next segment of the back road. But before we can cross the railroad, the same train came through, blocking our way once again. Luckily, this time around, it traveled at 1 miles per hour, only hindering us for 30 minutes. It was time well spent in our ultra sporty military vehicle.
When we finally got to Code Red, we were well ahead of schedule, because every operation had its hick-ups. Our other two team members came in woodland green outfit, which would be perfect in the grassy plains. But our sixth men was MIA, putting even more challenge on the team. By then our woodland fire team had befriended two more friendlies, call sign "Salad" and "Lettuce".
During mission briefing, the human survivors were split into two teams--Alpha and Bravo. Salad asked me whether we were allowed to shoot the Alpha team. I thought that we a great idea. Salad was definitely a forward thinker. Shooting the Alpha team would leave more food and water for the rest of us survivors. But we have zombie challenges ahead and limited ammo, so we decided to concentrated on the primary objective.
By nightfall, the operation was ready to commence. Our team was fully ready to take on the zombies and survive the night. Our commander explained that we must find canned food and water in District 9 for the survivors. Zebra and I formed a two-men team; we always work well together. Although we liked to call ourselves the Hello Kitty Fire Team, our team members generally call us Team Whiskey, so we'll go with that. Solar is a good lone wolf and went off on his own.
Team Whiskey slowly followed up as the rest of the operation crews ran into District 9. Our zombie experience had shown that running with the crowd always created a death trap. The excessive movement and shear number of people attract zombies like flies. Instead, Team Whiskey used the stealth tactic. We methodologically cleared each hallway, building, trashcan, hole in the wall and bushes. However, we did pass up a dead victim leaning by the crates. I was simply too scared that it would turn into a zombie and requested Zebra to leave it resting in peace.
Team Whiskey continued to search throughout the night. Zebra provided security as I went through every crack, searching desperately for what humanity needed. Our progress was excellent as we evaded the crowd of human survivors and the horde of zombies. We hid in "safe houses" when necessary to let zombies and survivors pass us by.
Even with our superior stealth tactic, zombies were able to track us down. In one instance, when I came out of a building, Zebra was to the left of me. I saw white shirt and red blood behind his two shoulders--a zombie! I was a little too stunned to determine the best course of action. So I tried to cross him ASAP to get a clear shot of the zombie. Too late. The zombie grabbed his shoulders and took him down. I put two shots into the zombie, but didn't wait around to see if the zombie survived to eat his brain.
Soon after, I heard everyone screaming that we had completed our objective and are headed out to extraction in the Black Hawk Down area. What an irony to be extracted in the helicopter crash site. I headed out into the grassy field with the rest of the survivors. We were able to fend the zombies off and extract.
Back at forward operating base (FOB), the crew chowed down on some hot dogs and hamburgers. Surprisingly, I bumped into Zebra. Luckily his brain didn't get eaten. Instead, he made it back as a zombie. And after eating some hot dogs, he turned back to human. Perhaps there was some immunity in the food source?
After our stomach was filled, we headed out once again to secure more supplies. This time, we needed gas cans, medicine bottles, and more waters. Having had a beyond death experience, Zebra vowed to put his head on the swivel and never let another zombie sneak up on him.
As we got into the western town of Redemption, we realized that our stealth tact is even more important now, because of the hybrid zombies on the field. We saw it chasing many of our crew as they shot it with not effect. There is nothing Team Whiskey could do, except hiding in building as it passed. Time weren't wasted, because we managed to find a medicine bottle and a bottled water. This time, we extracted and returned to FOB with no casualty on our fire team... because we are airsoft spec ops!
In the third mission, time was of essence, so a team of personnel was sent out in a helicopter to gather intel several acres out. The rest of the crew was to search the field for gas cans and meet up with the helicopter for extraction. The two commanders announced that they discovered antidotes and drank them, making them immune to the zombies. Perhaps they were the same antidote that Zebra miraculously found?
Team Whiskey found the first gas can right away. Even Solar joined our fire team. We moved from building to building, securing each of them along the way. We watched the hybrids chased the survivors while we deduced the best course of action. We were very careful as we moved from Redemption to District 9.
As we were crossing District 9 to enter Black Hawk Down, we met our commander. We trained our guns on him as he moved closer and closer. He had the look and smell of a zombie. Not to mention the zombie horde behind him. But when he gotten within ten feet, he started barking orders at us, asking us how many gas cans we found. We were dumbfound, because he was apparently unconcerned with the zombie horde around him. Before we can react, the zombie horde surrounded Team Whiskey. Zebra, Solar, and I screamed as the zombie clawed at us and dragged us down to the ground. The worst death ever... to be set-up by our own commander.
Perhaps the immunity didn't work as it turned him into human/zombie hybrid. But now we have no way to know as the zombies clawed through our skulls to eat our brains.

Title: CT-22 Zombie Apocalypse 2016-03-19
Weblog: Airsoft SpecOps
Excerpt: Code Red's new airsoft field is up and running at its new location in Perris, CA. It is bringing back its zombie events in mid-March. This time around, there is no convoluted story. Instead, all it is just a simple accident where government's weather changing chemical caused the zombie virus. Locati . . .
