Real Gun Muzzle Devices on Airsoft Rifles

There are a lot of airsoft flash suppressors and mock silencers. There are also a lot of real gun muzzle compensators. But airsoft external barrel has a 14mm thread. AR15 barrels, typically, have an 1/2"x28 thread, which translates to 12.7mm. It would be very cool to be able to use any real steel compensator on an airsoft gun. For example, you would be able to use the Strike Industries' (SI) Cookie Cutter on your airsoft rifle. So we are going to design a 3D printed adapter for you to do just that that.

We have already measured AEG external barrel dimensions. Now we have ordered a AR15 .223 1/2x28 Competition Muzzle Device Brake, which will arrive in a few days. By next week, we should have a design ready to print!

The airsoft external barrel thread is M14x1. That is the same diameter as the real steel AK-47, which uses M14x1LH (LH stand for Left Hand, which is counter-clockwise). So if your airsoft external barrel already have a counter-clockwise thread, then you can already use real AK47 muzzle brakes.

There is already an airsoft adapter that lets you use 1/2" X 28 flash hiders!

We have finished developing and prototyping the AR15 Muzzle to Airsoft Barrel Adapter. It's for both left hand (negative) and right hand (positive) 14mm threaded external barrels. It will also work with either positive or negative 1/2" threaded muzzle device. It is now available on Sculpteo and Shapeways.
