Echo1 Red Star IGOR Shoulder Stock Reinforcement

The Echo1 Red Star IGOR is a really fun AEG to play with. But like all favorite things, the more you use it, the more likely you will break it.

We cracked the shoulder stock interface (see photo below) when we dropped the gun flat on the ground at SC Viper. We noticed that the dowel interface close to the front of the handgrip could have been and should have been made beefier.

Well, that is where the power of 3D printing comes in. We can, and we will, design and build a repair/reinforcement part that we and you can use to repair a cracked shoulder stock or reinforce a new shoulder stock.

The shoulder stock reinforcement design is pretty simple. It's just a tube. Take a look at the drawing below. We are printing the prototype right now. As soon as it's a success, we will bring it to production.

The design is a success. Our prototype unit arrived today. It is a perfect fit on the IGOR shoulder stock and the pin (see photo below). It can't be any more successful than this. This reinforcement tube will go straight into production. You will be able to order one in a few days.

Forgot to mention that we have already glued this prototype unit into our IGOR shoulder stock. We used 5 minute general purpose epoxy. Seems to be holding strong after a few hours. We are going to wait 24 hours for it to fully cure before installing the shoulder stock onto the AEG.

We used a number of different epoxy, super glue, and Loctite Stik 'n Seal to fill the spaces around the reinforcement tube (see photo below). There are probably other putty-like products that will work just as well.
